An 80 piece insulated set covering screwdrivers, nut drivers, pliers, cutters, sockets, a ruler, a knife and a voltage detector.

The insulated coating is applied to the whole set rather than to the drivers alone.

Sockets, nut drivers and T-handles come in both inch and metric, which is what makes a single case enough on a mixed site.

It arrives in a rolling tool case, which is the only practical way to move a set this size.

Electricians Screwdriver Set

Insulated tools are protective equipment, and the set is what makes them usable: a kit where only the screwdrivers are insulated leaves you reaching for an uninsulated plier at exactly the wrong moment.

Electricians Screwdriver Set

The set is insulated, and insulation is not permission: the safe working practice is still to isolate, prove dead, and only then work.

Electricians Screwdriver Set

The maker's own instruction is worth repeating here because it is the part people skip. De-energise all circuits wherever possible before working on electrical equipment or cables.

Visually inspect the insulation on a tool before you use it. A nick, a split, a burn or a crush in the coating is a path, and an insulated tool with damaged insulation is worse than an uninsulated one because it is trusted.

The breadth is what justifies a set this size: ten slotted sizes, four Phillips, nine Torx, both square drivers, terminal drivers, and sockets and nut drivers in both systems, plus stripping and crimping pliers and a cable knife.

A single pole voltage detector is included. It is an indicator, not a proving unit: a proper prove-dead uses an approved voltage indicator and a proving unit, tested before and after.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

You can change your mind. Under the Australian Consumer Law's consumer guarantees you have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason, and a further 14 days to send it back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Australian Consumer Law covers you, we pay the return postage, and you can have a repair, a replacement or your money back. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Electricians Screwdriver Set?

An Electricians Screwdriver Set is a collection of screwdrivers specifically designed for electrical work. These screwdrivers have insulated handles to protect electricians from electric shock while working on live electrical circuits.

Why is an Electricians Screwdriver Set important for electrical professionals?

An Electricians Screwdriver Set is essential for electrical professionals because it ensures their safety when working with electricity. The insulated handles prevent electrical currents from passing through the screwdriver to the user's hand.

What are the common types of screwdrivers included in an Insulated Tool Set?

An Insulated Tool Set typically includes common types of screwdrivers, such as slotted (flathead), Phillips, and square (Robertson) screwdrivers, each with insulated handles.

Can an 80 Piece Electrician Tool Kit be used for residential electrical projects?

Yes, an 80 Piece Electrician Tool Kit is suitable for various electrical projects, including those in residential settings. It provides a comprehensive selection of tools needed for most electrical tasks.

How can I choose the right Electricians Screwdriver Set for my electrical work?

To choose the right Electricians Screwdriver Set, consider the types of electrical systems you'll be working on, the range of screwdriver sizes needed, and the quality and safety features of the insulated handles.

Are Insulated Tool Sets tested for safety compliance?

Insulated tool sets are purpose-built for electrical work. Always inspect tools for wear before use and follow your workplace safety procedures.

Can an 80 Piece Electrician Tool Kit be used for data and communication cabling work?

Yes, an 80 Piece Electrician Tool Kit often includes tools suitable for data and communication cabling work, such as wire strippers, crimping tools, and cable testers.

Can I use Electricians Screwdriver Sets for other non-electrical tasks?

While Electricians Screwdriver Sets are primarily designed for electrical work, their sturdy construction and variety of screwdriver types make them useful for general household tasks as well.

Is an Insulated Tool Set suitable for working on live electrical circuits?

Yes, an Insulated Tool Set is specifically designed for working on live electrical circuits. The insulation on the handles provides an additional layer of protection against electrical shock.

Can Electricians Screwdriver Sets be used with power drills?

Some Electricians Screwdriver Sets come with compatible bits that can be used with power drills, offering additional versatility and efficiency in certain electrical tasks.

Is the whole set insulated?

Yes, the insulated coating is applied across the set rather than to the screwdrivers alone. The manufacturer's own marking on each tool is what states what it is insulated to.

Does that mean I can work on live circuits?

No. The rating is the tool's, not a working method. Isolate the circuit and prove it dead before working on it wherever it is possible to do so.

What should I check before using a tool?

The insulation, visually, every time. A nick, split, burn or crush takes that tool out of service permanently.

Which screwdriver sizes are included?

Slotted from 2.5 mm to 10.0 mm, Phillips #0 to #3, square #1 and #2, terminal drivers, and Torx T6 to T30.

Are sockets included?

Yes, inch from 1/2 to 7/8 inch and metric from 13 to 22 mm, on a 3/8 inch insulated ratchet with an extension bar.

What pliers and cutters come with it?

Long nose in two lengths, bent nose, long flat nose, combination and crimper, stripping pliers, diagonal cutters, high leverage cutters and cable cutters.

Is there a voltage detector?

A single pole detector is included. It is an indicator rather than a proving unit, so a full prove-dead still needs an approved voltage indicator and a proving unit.

Is the case portable?

It is a rolling tool case, which is what makes a set of this size movable in one trip.

Working safely with insulated hand tools

4 min read Industry Tools Company Australia

An insulated tool is protective equipment, and like all protective equipment it is the last line rather than the first.

Isolate first. The safe method is to isolate the circuit, lock it off, and prove it dead. Insulated tools exist for the residual risk after all that, not instead of it.

Prove dead properly. An approved voltage indicator, proved on a known source before and after the test. A single pole detector, including the one in this set, tells you something is live; it does not reliably tell you something is dead.

Inspect before every use. Run the tool through your fingers and look at the insulation along its whole length. Nicks, splits, burns, crushing and any exposure of metal all take that tool out of service. Insulation does not get repaired with tape.

Do not modify a tool. Grinding a driver tip, shortening a shaft or drilling a handle destroys the insulation system even where the coating still looks intact.

Keep them apart from the rest. Insulated tools thrown in a bag with a hacksaw get damaged, and the damage is exactly the kind that is hard to see. The case has fitted positions for a reason.

Watch the temperature. Insulation is a polymer: it goes hard and brittle when cold, and it softens with heat. Both change how it behaves under a knock.

Retire on age as well as on damage. A set in daily use collects wear you stop noticing. If you cannot remember when a tool came into service, that is a reason to look at it harder rather than a reason to trust it.
