About this product
Dollies that turn on the spot, and a lifter to get them under the corner.
ABS, steel and TPE, with 3.2 cm TPE castors that rotate a full 360 degrees and are chosen not to mark a floor, plus a 90 degree lifter.
A set of low-profile dollies and a lifter bar for moving heavy furniture without carrying it.
The castors rotate 360 degrees, so a wardrobe or a sofa can be turned on the spot rather than shuffled round in stages.
The wheels are TPE, which is impact and wear resistant and is chosen so it does not leave marks on a hard floor.
The lifter takes a corner high enough to slide a dolly under, which is the part that usually needs a second person.
Two things make a piece of furniture hard to move: the weight, and the fact that it has to be turned as well as pushed.
Dollies take the weight. Omnidirectional castors take the turning, because the wheels rotate rather than the load, and a sofa that has to be squared up in a doorway can be squared up where it stands.
The lifter is the piece people forget to buy. Getting a dolly under a corner needs that corner lifted a few centimetres, and doing that by hand is what turns a one-person job into a two-person one.
TPE wheels are a deliberate choice over hard plastic. They give slightly under load, which is what keeps a grain of grit from being pressed into a floor, and they are quieter across a tiled hall.
The low profile is the constraint to check before ordering. A piece with a plinth straight to the floor, or a very shallow gap underneath, cannot take a dolly at all.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.

What is a furniture mover, also known as a furniture dolly?
A furniture mover, or furniture dolly, is a specialized device used for moving heavy furniture and other bulky items easily and safely. It typically consists of a platform with wheels or casters for smooth mobility.
How does a furniture mover or dolly work?
Furniture movers or dollies utilize wheels or casters to reduce friction and allow for effortless transportation of furniture. The item is placed on the platform, and the dolly is pushed or pulled to move the furniture.
What are the benefits of using a furniture mover or dolly?
Furniture movers or dollies help to distribute the weight of heavy furniture, reducing strain on the back and minimizing the risk of injuries. They also provide stability and ease of movement, saving time and effort.
Can furniture movers be used on different types of flooring?
Yes, furniture movers are designed to work on various types of flooring, including hardwood, tile, carpet, and concrete. Some dollies have specialized wheels or padding to protect delicate floors.
Are furniture movers suitable for moving items other than furniture?
Absolutely. Furniture movers can be used to transport a wide range of heavy items, such as appliances, boxes, office equipment, and even garden pots.
What is a furniture lifter set, and how does it differ from a furniture dolly?
A furniture lifter set typically includes tools like lifting straps, sliders, and a crowbar. It is used to lift and reposition furniture, whereas a furniture dolly is specifically designed for transporting furniture.
Are furniture lifter sets suitable for lifting furniture on your own?
Yes, furniture lifter sets are designed to assist individuals in lifting heavy furniture without straining their backs. The tools in the set provide leverage and help distribute the weight evenly.
Can furniture movers or lifters be used for moving fragile or delicate items?
While furniture movers and lifters are primarily designed for heavy and bulky items, extra care should be taken when moving fragile or delicate furniture. Using padding, blankets, or additional protection can help ensure their safety during transport.
How much weight can a furniture mover or dolly support?
The weight capacity of furniture movers or dollies varies depending on the specific model. It is important to check the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure that the dolly can safely handle the weight of your furniture.
How do I maintain and store furniture movers or lifters?
To maintain furniture movers or lifters, keep them clean and free of debris. Store them in a dry and secure location, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Regularly check the wheels or sliders for any damage or wear.
What is in the set?
Low-profile dollies with rotating castors, and a lifter bar to get each corner high enough to slide one under.
Will the wheels mark my floor?
The wheels are TPE, chosen so they do not mark. What marks a floor is grit caught in a wheel, so keep them clean.
Do the wheels turn in every direction?
Yes. They rotate a full 360 degrees, so a piece can be turned on the spot.
Can one person use it?
That is what the lifter is for. Lift one corner, slide a dolly under, repeat.
Will it fit under any furniture?
It needs a gap under the corner. A piece with a plinth straight to the floor cannot take a dolly.
Is it only for the home?
No. The same set is used in warehouses, shops and garages.
Does it work on carpet?
Hard floors are where castors work best. On thick carpet the wheels sink in and flat sliders are the better tool.

Moving furniture on dollies without damaging the floor
3 min readIndustry Tools Company Australia
Dollies turn a lift into a push, and a push is where floors get damaged. Almost all of that damage is avoidable.
Clean the route first. A single grain of grit under a wheel is a scratch the length of the hall. Sweep, then check the wheels themselves before the first move.
Lift the corner rather than levering the piece. The lifter is designed to take one corner just high enough for a dolly to go under, and using the furniture itself as a lever is what breaks a leg or a plinth.
Put the dollies under the load-bearing points, not the middle of a panel. On a wardrobe that is the corners; on a sofa it is the frame under the arms. A dolly under a thin base panel will push through it.
Turn with the castors rather than shoving. Omnidirectional wheels mean you can rotate the piece in place, which is how a long item gets through a doorway without scuffing both frames.
Watch thresholds. A dolly stops dead at a door bar and the load keeps going. Slow down before every change of surface.
On carpet, dollies are the wrong tool. The wheels sink and the effort goes up; flat sliders work better on soft floors.
Take the dollies out the same way they went in, one corner at a time. Tipping a piece off them is how the last minute of a move becomes the expensive one.
Ask before you order and we will tell you honestly what the manufacturer states. Free delivery across Australia on orders over $100. What we will not do is tell you a piece of protective equipment suits your hazard: that is your own assessment and the certification marked on the product.
